Structural Strengthening
A service life of between 80 to 100 years is generally assumed
for reinforced concrete structures. During that period, it has to meet
many different requirements. Changes in utilisation, damages or
construction defects may mean some bearing capacity and rigidity
parameters have to be increased before a structure is fit for use
again. Strengthening of a structure becomes necessary if its stability
and fitness for use under stipulated conditions can no longer be
guaranteed.
